Hoppy Easter

Easter this year was pretty darn good! The Easter Bunny came and went. He left a few treats for the boys and went on his merry way. Jacoby got a "big boy" Lego and a bubble wand and Leo got a Minecraft zombie novel (yeah-they exist) and a Skylanders trap. And they each got a few eggs filled with jelly beans.

Leo lost electronics for the month earlier this week and the first thing he says to me when he sees his basket is that the Easter Bunny must have known that he lost them. Haha.

We headed to mass and then attended the Easter egg hunt that the Knights of Columbus hosts. Jacoby hit the jackpot and Leo ever the drama king was crying because he ended up on the bottom of a big kid pileup trying for the golden egg. Luckily his ankle wasn't broken ;) and we kept moving our day along.

After the hunt we headed over to my aunt and uncle's house for lunch and another hunt for my cousin's daughter and my boys. We also played a rousing game of Sorry. Or perhaps the longest game ever because we played with a 3, 5 and 8 year old. Yeesh!

All in all it was a pretty great day. I hope you all had a great Easter too!

another weekend gone

So another weekend has come and gone. This weekend was a little different in that we went to Dodge City to visit family and enjoy a nice wedding. Well of course with an almost 2-year-old things don't always go as planned. We got to the wedding and probably 15 minutes into it Leo started to act up. And then came the reception. A time that I figured he would enjoy with the food and dancing. Obviously I didn't have a clue. He was ready to go right then. I don't know if it was the amount of people or just the fact that he was ready to go but he got mean. I have a scratch on my arm to prove it and he bit Leonard. Tis life!

So we decided to go back to Leonard's parents house and we took his almost 4-year-old niece with us because she was ready also. We go home, eat and then sit down to watch some TV. Well apparently Leo is a bully and Jocelynn is his favorite target. All night and then today he picked on her. I don't know what it is about her but he really enjoyed beating her up. And then we feel bad because our kid is the mean kid.

Then today we watched a little football (I watched my eye lids because I was tired!) and then we left for home about 4. And ridiculously enough it took us 3 hours to get home. So stupid. And we don't really know why. It sure didn't take us that long to get there. I think God threw in a few extra miles to give us some more quality time together! :)

I'll post a picture of the girls and little man for you to see the cousins. They are all so cute! Hope you all had a great weekend!

Small victories

So I know I haven't posted in a while and this one is going to be quick, but we have had a small victory in the Fernandez household. Leo has slept in his own bed for 5 nights in a row! That is ever so exciting since he will be 20 months old tomorrow (I can't freaking believe it!). Anywho...he will go through (short) phases where he will sleep in his own bed and I will be in heaven, but the last time he did that he got sick with the rotovirus and then got chicken pox a month later and boy was sleeping in his own bed screwed up after that! So, we went to KC for the weekend and Leo stayed with my folks and he sleeps in his own bed there and so we made him sleep in his own bed every night since then. So I am thrilled to have 1/2 of the bed to myself! And now the next big thing to break him of is his bottle. Any suggestions would be fabulous!
