RTT: Another Tuesday, more random thoughts

It's time for another episode of Random Thoughts Tuesday!

Things that make you go hmmm..
A gentleman in a leather bomber jacket walking a tiny dog in little booties that also had a neck sphere thing on.

There is a Starbucks that is located right across the bank in the grocery store. There is the most annoying employee that works at Starbucks. These are his two favorite phrases…
“hallooooooooo!” As loud as he can. And not just to customers. Just to random people walking by Starbucks. The other one is, “ would you like to try a sample? It tastes like a chocolate covered cherry in a cup.” Again, to Every. Single. Person. I have decided that a drinking place would work out real well because you would get drunk really fast. The only bad part is that we’re at work. So probably not a good idea!

This is probably TMI but since I have started to eat a lot healthier I have been a lot less regular. I used to go like everyday but lately it’s been like every 3-4 days. I’m not uncomfortable by this but I just thought if I was eating more fruits and vegetables that I would go more. I guess not.

Two days of potty training bliss was not enough for my little monkey to decide to do it full time. He went from two days with no accidents to one day with 2 accidents. We have watched a Burger King that has been built and would drive by it every day on the way to his school. It is finally done so we have done what any great parent does. We have bribed him. If he can make it the full day at home with dad without going to the bathroom in his pants at all then he will get Burger King for dinner. He’s pretty excited about it! Hopefully that will be incentive enough for him to stay clean for the day!

I was thinking of ways to save money this morning while driving to work and my thought was to cut cable. When I first moved out of my house I didn’t have cable and I didn’t miss it. I think the hubby would miss it more because we wouldn’t be able to watch the sports channels. I think I would be able to find other things to do. I read 8 books the first 2 months of the year and I haven’t read one since. It’s a little depressing because I keep finding books I want to read but our library sucks in the selection. Not the actual library because it’s brand new and it is amazing but I digress…I just hate having to wait to see if they are even able to get the book I am requesting. I wish that I lived somewhere where the selection of books was more of a Barnes and Noble rather than a small town library.

Weight Watchers Friday Week 3

So week 3.

Starting weight: 159
Last week: 156
This week: 153

Woo hoo! Down another 3 pounds! As I was looking through my tracker for the week I realized that there was only 1 day that I went over on my points and it was only by 2 points! That was even with me being home from Thursday through Sunday. And I made delicious ribs on Sunday. So there were definitely challenges that I have overcome. I have had to really rely on my willpower because there were definitely days that I could have eaten a lot more! There were also days that I realized how big serving sizes are! I doubled up on the amount of ice cream I ate one night. Usually I can eat 1/2 cup of peanut butter cookie dough ice cream for 4 points. I had extra points because I had worked out and hadn't eaten many points so I decided to eat a full cup. Wow, that was a lot of ice cream! So, morale of the story...just because you have the extra points does not mean you need to eat them all! haha! But the ice cream was good!

Spin Cycle: ME ME ME

So this weeks spin cycle is supposed to be all about me. So because I am on a new weight loss journey I will catch you up to speed about my struggles with weight.

Part 1: I am 5'2 (on a good day). I have been this height since I was probably in high school. ANd that will be where our journey begins. I was always one of the heavier girls of the group of girls I hung out with. Little did I know that one day I would be struggling to get back to that weight. Anyways...I was probably about 120-140 pounds. I was a cheerleader but I was always a base at the bottom of our stunts. I get it. I was stronger and sturdier than those little sticks, but believe me, some of those girls looked thin but they were heavy! So that starts our struggle. I (kinda) wanted to be the girl that was lifted in the air. Or at least looked at like they could lift me. By the time I graduated I was rebellious to the fact that I was annoyed with the girls that I hung out with because I felt everyone was so judgmental. we were, but who isn't in high school, but I was sick of it.

Part 2: Moving out of my parents house when I was just barely 18 was the release I needed. I did a lot of drinking and spent most of my money on that and fast food. Surprising I lost weight. Apparently even if you eat crappy food, if you eat just barely enough then you can lose weight. Oh yeah, and stressing out about 18 hours worth of school work and 2 jobs also kills fat cells. It was glorious! I was probably 115-120 pounds. And I was ok with it. I wore my string bikini with pride!

Part 3: Meeting my hubby. Yep, what they say is true. When you get comfortable with someone you start to gain weight. We started living together and my life got on the right path where I was not drinking (well at least not like I was!) and I was cooking at home more. The weight just poured on. I had no problem putting on about 30 pounds. I was up to about 150 pounds. I didn't know where it came from and it didn't stop. I wore jeans year round, even in scorching 100 degree weather because I was mortified of my thighs. I work tank tops but again mortified of my jiggly arms. I ended up getting up to about 175 pounds. I don't know how my frame handled it but I didn't even have any knee or back problems due to the weight.

Part 4: Pregnancy. Uh oh. We were pregnant. That wasn't the uh oh. The weighing 175 pounds and being pregnant was. I knew that it isn't a good thing for your baby to have a fat mama and I didn't want to be one of those women who used being pregnant as an excuse to eat whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted. I ended up only putting on 30 pounds my entire pregnancy and almost all of that came within the last 4 months. That put me over 200 pounds though and it was a horrible feeling. I lost all of the baby weight within the first year but still being at 175 pounds was just a bad thing for me. So it was then that I decided to take control of my life.

Part 5: The good news. I have decided to travel on a weight loss journey. I am wanting to get pregnant within the year and I want to start out my pregnancy at a better weight. I know it has taken me way to long to decide to put forth enough effort to do it but I am willing to do it. I always used to be like, I don't mind exercising but I am still going to eat whatever I want. And I have learned that that isn't going to get me anywhere. So between joining weight watchers and deciding to change my eating habits I feel like I am on the path to success.

I hope this has given you insight into me. If you are interested in seeing me continue on my journey check in on Fridays for my weight watchers Friday because that is my weigh in day! And to read more about other bloggers check out http://www.spriteskeeper.com/my_weblog/2010/03/spin-cycle-its-not-you-its-me-.html. This will take you to view other peoples story of themselves! Enjoy!

Glorious weather

So yeseterday in the Derb it was 70 degrees. That's right people, 70 degrees. If you recall, just 3 days ago snow covered the ground. Gotta love the weather in Kansas! Anyways...I went to my mom's for dinner and after the old folks left we decided to go for a walk. We put the monkey in the stroller and wheeled ourselves down the road. We didn't leave until about 7:45 so it was starting to get dark. Here are a few things we learned while walking when it is getting dark:
  • Cars go really fast. We had to walk about 3 blocks without sidewalks. It was a side street so we weren't too concerned. Well we should have been. The speed limit is 30 mph and I swear this car was going 40 at least. And we had a stroller and dude didn't even slow his big ol' SUV down. What a jerk.
  • My child can see very well in the dark. He kept wanting us to run. Now, because of my ashtma I am not a runner. I have never really been a runner but especially lately with the flare-ups I've been having. I told him we would run when we saw grandma and grandpas house. I should have known better. He saw it probably a whole street away. I started to run and I couldn't even make it. But at least after our running he told us, "good job running guys." What a monkey!
  • After the sun gets past a certain point, it goes down fast. Like within 10 minutes it went from being pretty sunny out to no sun at all.

Ok, so a few lessons learned! We had a nice walk and I have continued my exercising every day. Yay me!

We are the champions

Yay! I got an award! Woo hoo! I love getting awards because it means someone is actually reading me! I guess i could give myself awards...hmmmmm maybe I will start making up my own awards to make myself feel better! haha. Anyways back to my original point. I was given the Honest Scrap award. It was given to my from Heather over at http://bnhwelch.blogspot.com. Please check her out. She has been gracious enough to find my little blog and proclaim it to her bloggy followers. I am now being followed by them because of her, so thank you!

So here are the rules to Accept the Award:
Thank the person giving you this award. Check
Copy the award to your blog. Can't do it because I never can figure out how to copy a picture on here. Every single time I post a picture it causes my computer to freeze and I have to edit the original blog. Hence why you hardly see pictures up. I don't understand why...
Place a link to their blog. See above.
Name 7 tidbits people don’t know about you from reading your blog. See below.
Nominate 10 Bloggers. My 10 bloggers are 10 of my followers. If you are a follower you are a winner! I can't pick certain ones because I love them all! You aren't in my following if I don't love ya!
Place a link to those Bloggers. See followers, click on blog!
Leave a comment letting those Bloggers know about the award. You've all been warned!

Here are my 7 tidbits:
1) I have exercised every day for the last 12 days.
2) I love Pepsi, but since I have started weight watchers I have not had a regular pop. It has been 12 days.
3)I eat dinner every Tuesday with my parents and grandparents and my brother and his family. It is a little traditon that was started to get my grandparents out of their house at least 1 night a week. It is great because my grandmother who has trouble remembering people remembers my sons name even when not in the dinner setting. It warms my heart knowing that he knows them like I know them.
4)I hate taking showers. If I could get one of those old people stools for the shower to sit down I would probably enjoy it more. I think it is annoying that I have to stand up. Maybe I'm just lazy. I also do not like taking baths in my house because my bathtub is not big enough.
5)I think it is a waste of time to make the bed. You are just going to mess it up when you get back in it that night. Again, probably laziness but to me it's the principal.
6)Sometimes I don't mind having a tiny house because all the crap that we have acquired in our little house would be double in a bigger house.
7)I hate cars. I think that having a fancy car is a waste. I am planning on buying the same car I have now only in a newer model when I HAVE to get a new car. I have only had 2 cars in my 10 years of driving and I would probably still be driving my 1986 grand am if it was still running. I loved that little car. The engine blew on the way to a basketball game in Newton when I was a senior in high school. I had to get the car I have now. It's a 2001 Ford Escort. It has 86k miles and I will drive it until it dies. It's my little baby car because it's so little!

RTT

Another Tuesday another set of Random.

On Friday night we went through the monkeys toys and I got rid of a whole trash bag full of toys. Took them to goodwill and came home. Still looks like I am living in a toy store. But at least the living room is a little cleaner.

Tried a new recipe Saturday night. Crispy oven fried chicken. First off, not crispy. Second off...oh my gosh. It was so overseasoned. It was terrible. I didn't even want to keep the leftovers but the hubby told me we could feed it to the monkey because he liked it. I don't know if that's bad that we will feed the crap to the kid or good because the kid is not picky. I'm going to go with good because I'd rather not have a picky eater.

The Jayhawks lost Saturday night. They couldn't even beat UNI to get to the sweet sixteen. It was a sad day in our house but what can you do. Some teams just have bad days. They just waited until they were in the tournament to suck it up. Let the boo birds come out to sing!

Now that I'm done with basketball now I guess I will get back in to baseball. We are big KC Royals fans so since opening day is right around the corner I'll just dust off my jersey and stop watching all other tv since they show them about every day once the season starts!

Potty training still sucks. The underwear situation not working. Monkey just doesn't care. I don't know what to do. (sigh.)

WW is getting better. Not so hungry all the time so that is a plus. Hopefully the lossage of pounds will continue this week. Especially since I am back in the swing of a schedule since I am back to work. (yay.) Also, I started doing the 30 Day SHred. Still sore. Yikes.

I think that is enough for you today. To see other random check out the randomizer herself...Keely over at www.theunmom.com

Lazy Sundays

Do you know what we spent the day doing yesterday? Not much! We got up about 7:30 thanks to a little monkey and just lazed around most of the day. The funniest part is that the hubby busted out some of his old tapes (yes tapes, not CDs) and listened to them with headphones. What a dork! The monkey played with his toys and read a lot of his books and I played Monopoly and Scrabble on my phone. Started watching basketball around 11:30. Oh yeah, and I put ribs in the crockpot and that was dinner along with baked potatoes and corn on the cob. Delicious! I love days like that. They are so relaxing and when we have nothing else to do it makes it nice to end the weekend that way. That way we don't feel like we are already struggling starting out the work week. Especially since I don't have a vacation scheduled until the end of June for my brothers wedding. Come on June!

First Day of What?!

So yesterday was our first day of spring and it snowed. Ridiculous. Even more ridiculous? I spent about an hour shoveling the driveway and walkway up to the house so I could get some exercise and let the monkey play outside. By the time hubby got home from work he didn't say a single word about the job. I said something about it and he said he thought I had but the streets had already cleared so he didn't know if it had just melted. I looked out the window and sure enough the other driveways were cleared. I spent an hour freezing my butt off and it didn't even matter. Well, at least I got 4 extra points for the day for spending that much time out there. How was your first day of spring?

Potty Training 101

So this week has been a tough/good week on the potty training front. Last Monday when the dear husband picked up the monkey from school the teacher asked him how potty training was going. He told her that it wasn't going that well and that he would have his good days and bad days. She said that the monkey is doing great at school and sometimes just poops in his pull up. She asked if we had underwear at home and if the monkey ever wore them. The hubby said we did and that we hadn't had him wearing it because he wasn't really trying. She said that it might help if he just wore the underwear only instead of them over a pull up. We talked to the monkey that night and asked him if that would be something he was interested in, trying to get him to understand that is what big boys do and let him know that he had some say in it as well. He decided that this was something he wanted to do. So we decided to go for it.

Day 1: My dad picked the monkey up from school and he had pooped twice in his underwear. Luckily I had taken extras.
Day 2: Did good in his underwear but during nap he had been placed in a pull up just because that is a tricky part of the day and he had pooped in his pull up. Other than that he was dry and stayed in the same underwear the whole day. I then took him over to my moms for a brief minute so I could do something for her and while we were there he pooped in his underwear. Even after I had him sit on the pot so he could try. I was very frustrated but decided to try to stick with it.
Day 3: Stayed dry the entire day at school. Went poop in the potty twice.
Day 4: In the morning while getting him ready for school I saw him go to his g0-to hiding spot to poop. I asked him if he was pooping and he said no but that he had to go. I scooped him up and put him on the toilet and he sat there for a good 5-10 minutes and did his business. I was so proud of him.
Hopefully the praise we are giving him when he does what he's supposed to do and in the right place will get him to start doing this full-time. I also got him some new Cars underwear as an incentive to get to wear the big-boy underwear instead of pull ups. HOpefully by the end of the month we will have a fully potty-trained little man!

Sad Day

KU lost today and I am a little sad. Ok, a lot sad. They played really crappy for about 38 minutes and the last two minutes didn't cut it. Oh well. I guess there is always next year.

Alice in Wonderland

So I think most people that read this know that I am a HUGE Johnny Depp fan. I have pretty much every movied he's made on DVD and I also love Tim Burton. Not nearly as much as Johnny because honestly, he's not as good looking! So when I found out that they were remaking Alice in Wonderland I was thrilled. I knew it would be dark and pretty crazy but I like that sort of thing! Then the pictures started coming and I saw a preview and I thought, holy crap. This is going to be awesome!

Fast forward to March. Mom insists that we go to see it in 3-D and IMAX. I was all for it but because the closest IMAX theater is about 3 hours away it did not fall into our family's plans. So we ended up settling for 3-D at the local theater. It was still amazing. This was my first movie to see in 3-D and the imagery was amazing. I was hoping for a little bit more 3-D stuff but what there was was pretty cool. The story line was cool how it was Alice being more grown up and thinking that she was in a dream when in reality she was having memories and not dreaming. Also, my most favorite line had to be when Alice asked her dad if she was mad and her father told her she was but only the best people are. I think that line just resonates with me because even though we might be a little crazy that doesn't made us bad. It makes us unique and if we use this then it can make us great!

I would definitely give this movie 2 thumbs up and encourage everyone to go see it!

NCAA Tournament

So last weekend the KU Jayhawks won the Big 12 tournament cementing them with a number 1 overall seed for the NCAA tournament. They of course got into the toughest regions bracket because the NCAA is all up on the Big East, SEC and ACC's you know what but whatever. The Jayhawks will prevail. Sorry to digress, but on Thursday night the Jayhawks played Lehigh. They were a 16 seed and led Kansas by 8 points before the Jayhawks pulled their heads out of their arses and decided to play like they were the best team in the country. They ended up winning by about 10 points but they used their skills of teamwork to lead for the rest of the game after about 10 minutes in the first half. (I'm just guessing on the exactness because I didn't pay that much attention to the score and time left, etc, but the gist is pretty much there.) Saturday they will be playing and they better get their act together because Obama picked them to win the national championship and by golly if the president picks them they have to win. They still have a long road ahead of them but I am psyched for the tournament. I have taken off Thursday-Sunday so I can sit at home and watch basketball all weekend! It is amazing! So let's go Jayhawks! I'm rooting for you!

Do you have a team that you enjoy watching? Sorry if it's a Big East, ACC or SEC team! Especially sorry if it's a Big East team because there is a chance they are already out seeing that 3 or 4 lost on Thursday alone! :)

200th post and weight watchers Friday

So wow, this is my 200th post. That's pretty crazy considering I didn't know if I would make it to 50 and if anyone would even read it. I didn't really care if anyone was reading it but it makes me feel good when I have commenters that tell me they understand or they think what I have to say is funny! So yay me! Here's to another 200!

So on to my regular scheduled broadcast...Today is weight watchers Friday! Last week was my first week of weight watchers and I feel I did pretty well. Even though I was hungry for half the week, but that's neither here nor there. All week I have been counting my calories and translating them into points. It's been a long road just to get here but I'm sure it will get easier as I become more familiar with what equals what points. I only went over my points 3 days and I didn't even use all 35 bonus points that we were given. I exercised every day and I even ate ice cream 3 days! I'm pretty proud of the choices I made and knowing those choices will help me fit nicely into my bridesmaids dress that I will be donning in about 3 months. So here are my results from week 1:

Starting weight: 159 pounds
Todays weight at weigh-in: 156 pounds

So for the week I am down 3 pounds! That is awesome! I am going to keep up the good work and hopefully with me being off from yesterday until next Monday will not de-rail me!

Tuesday, March 16, 2010

It’s Tuesday so I’m going to throw some random your way.

When it’s Saturday evening and you’re coming to the bank and grab 10 or 20 dollars in 1s I know where you’re going. You need to be a little embarrassed but I’m not judging you. I just like to make fun of you.

Weight watchers pretty much sucks but I’m hoping that I will have an epiphany in the way that hopefully counting points is not going to annoy me forever and that even though I’m eating less foods I won’t be hungry. I’m keeping happy thoughts in my mind.

Just because you teach a CPR class does not mean you are in the medical field. Please don’t act all haughty. Just because I work in a bank does not mean I tell people I work in finance. Or even in management. Come on people. Call it what it is.

I have learned that my mother is a pushover when it comes to being a grandma. The monkey bumped his head at their house when he was monkeying around and instead of scolding him for misbehaving (like I did!) she offered him fruit snacks and then told him she was going to take him to McDonalds. Again, I’m not judging…I just think it’s funny!

I went to Alice in Wonderland and it was AMAZING! That is a post within itself so wait for it!

I want to be a celebrity for 2 reasons. 1 because they get to go to parties and then they get all this crazy free stuff. Want a new phone? I’m sure some totally awesome phone is coming out and the brand wants to promote that someone totally awesome has one. Come to our party and we’ll give you one. For. Free. And second I would like to be a celebrity because they always get to wear all the pretty clothes. I want to go to some random bar opening and wear a formal. I like wearing pretty clothes. And I feel pretty when I wear pretty clothes. So please, if you have it in your power…make me a celebrity!

I have been writing my posts and then using the auto-post feature thingy to post them when I want them to. I am writing this on Saturday and then it will post on Tuesday. That’s pretty amazing in itself and it is giving me time to actually do things I want when I get home instead of having to wrangle the toddler into doing something without bothering me whilst I type. I love it. I am also writing my posts during work so it’s a win-win (for my blog) because it’s like I’m getting paid to blog. My degree is finally paying off!

Have I mentioned I’m hungry. Stupid weight watchers. Grumble grumble.

Pretty sure this week is going to be cool because I have Thursday-Sunday off. I’m so excited! And because of the weather lately I want a grill. But I want a new one that isn’t charcoal because honestly last year it didn’t really work that well and I’m pretty sure a gas one would be amazing. And I think a hamburger sounds pretty amazing right now. Yummmm

Ok that’s all the random I will subject you to today. If you want to check out more, check out Keely over at www.theunmom.com. She is the queen of random and random people!

I want to win!

Through the different blogs I read I find many different new blogs. I can’t read all of them and some of them I just can’t get into. But I have found a couple that have giveaways like every day. First off, they obviously spend a lot of time on the computer because they write reviews on all of these products. Second off, they give away really cool stuff. And they get to try these things for free. One of them I found was an island life. She’s in Hawaii so that’s cool in itself! But her website is http://islandlife808.com. Most of her giveaways that I’ve seen since I started viewing it have been kids stuff which is amazing. Today she is doing a giveaway for Curious George 2. My little monkey loves Curious George so if I can win this for him that would be cool, but I get an extra entry for blogging about it so here it is! If you are interested in giveaways check her blog out and there is another one http://shopannies.blogspot.com. She has had giveaways for food products, home products and even just coupons. Both are good sites on saving money as well! Just wanted to let you know about them!

Spin Cycle: Where it all began

This weeks spin cycle is about the birth of my blog. Well not mine specifically, but how each person's blog got started. Mine isn't too interesting but the outcome has been pretty amazing for me. It all started one Thanksgiving break about a year and a half ago. My friend was visiting from Dallas and she had sent me her blog link a while before and I had been reading it. I told her I would like to comment but I didn't have a google username and it wouldn't let me. She told me I should start a blog. So I did. There you have it ladies and gentleman. A true story of peer pressure! But since then I have written almost 200 posts and I have gained many people who read my blog and have gained many more whose blogs I read. I feel connected to many of them because I have found people in similar situations that I find myself. It is amazing (and reassuring) to know that there is someone halfway across the country trying to figure out what to do with their 3 year old the same way I am! It is also nice to just be able to get my feelings out of my system and not have to worry about the repercussions of talking to my people in the real world. There are definitely still things that I don't discuss on my blog because some of the people that read it actually know me and I don't want to completely disturb them with my crazy thoughts but most of them I can type out and I can feel the stress leaving through my fingers. So thanks bloggy world for letting me do that!

If you want to check out other spins about other totally awesome blogs and their beginnings check out www.spriteskeeper.com

Here are a few funnies from my little man.

Come here and give me mooches. (apparently in school they have talked about smooches!)
On a morning where he ended up in bed with us he asked where my pony hair (ponytail) went. When I told him he had probably taken it out in the middle of the night he looked at me and said, “not me baby!”
We are horrible parents and eat dinner in front of the TV. While doing so we always stop the show we are watching (thank God for a DVR) if we need to run to the kitchen or what not. So, last night the monkey was eating dinner and he wanted more milk so he told us to stop the show and get him some more milk. That’s probably more funny to me since he’s just being a parrot!

When talking about my cousin that was going to have her baby he told me that the baby was locked in a castle by the bad guys. I asked where the mom was and he said in the castle too. Silly boy!
Last night he was in the bathtub and I let him play in there by himself. When he is being a little too quiet I check on him. I asked him last night if he was ready to get out and he told me, "No. I still have work to do!"
There are so many more and many that are funny to me and the hubby because when he does certain things or says certain things we know he’s our kid! And I know these pictures don't fit exactly, but he's still cute and thought I would share!

Weight Watchers Friday

So, I’m starting weight watchers today. My first meeting was this morning at 7am. Quite ridiculous if you ask me. I had to even get there 30 minutes early so I could register. This is my second go-around with weight watchers. I started when I was in college with my aunt and we did pretty well with it and then life got in the way for me. And then I got pregnant and you can’t do it when you’re pregnant. And now they are offering it through work. I am unable to attend the meetings at work because it is at a different location than where I work and only offered during lunch hours and that is not conducive to my schedule. They finally started offering it to the other employees and they can attend meetings by their houses. And I can get up to a 75% refund if I attend a certain amount of meetings and meet my goal weight in the 10 week period! That was motivation enough for me! So, today is the day. I will be monitoring what I eat and making sure that the foods I am eating are going to fill me up without being ridiculously unhealthy! I will be accountable to you guys by every Friday posting my weight loss (and hopefully not gain!) and the successes that I have had this week! If you have had successes with weight watchers and have some seriously awesome recipes let me know! And if you want to join me in my weight loss journey feel free to comment about yours even if you aren’t participating in weight watchers! Any motivation for me is great!

Movies for the whole family

So we have gotten tired in the Fernandez household of watching every Disney/Pixar/Dreamworks movie ever made for children. So we have taken a good, hard look at our DVD collection to try to bring a little culture to our little monkey. This is what has come out of it:
That's right. These two American classics. Lots of farting, lots of the use of the word butt and other things that I really don't remember being in these movies. But my 3-year-old truly loves them. And the hubby said that they would be better than Indiana Jones. he was just hunting Nazis. Nothing wrong with that. So thank you, 1990s. My child has been running around pretending to fart on people. I salute you.

I've got a fever and the only cure is more cowbell

Or having a baby. One of the two. I am in a freaking baby-fever mood. It all started when 3 of my cousins are having babies this year. Yes, 3. And then one of my co-workers told me that her sister is having a baby. And then one of the cousins had her baby. And I held that sweet baby girl in my arms and my uterus was trying to burst out of me, but in a good way. You know?! And when I was telling the hubby that said cousin was planning on using a baby name that we had in our minds for our first baby he said, no because WHEN we have another baby it's going to be twin girl and what rhymes with Emma? Zemma. So, even though the hubby makes terrible jokes at times, he said when not if. Again, the whole uterus coming out of me. So I am still on my plan of not getting pregnant until next January-March so I can have the Christmas holiday off (damn working retail and trying to plan babies so I can actually spend time with my family!) and because financially it would make more sense for us, but it is going to be a tough struggle for the next year to keep these feelings under wraps. But I'm gonna do it!

And sorry I've been MIA. I just haven't felt the need to be blogging. Nothing exciting has been going on so all I would have been spluttering would have been jibba-jabba! I'm going to try to get back on my own bandwagon now though! Happy Hump Day!

RTT

Another Tuesday another batch of random thoughts...

So even though I have been taking my migraine medicine and trying to stay off the restricted foods I had a horrible one last night. I went to bed at 7 and woke up this morning at 6:45. Still with a headache. Nice. I even took the hardcore medicine. I don't know what's up. I guess when I go back to the dr. I will let him know.

We have been trying to save money by not eating out. While this is a noble effort I am CRAVING some good hamburgers. I want some Freddy's or some Southeast Carryout. They are both delicious, local hamburger places. And they both have amazing fries. Which is almost as good as the hamburgers!

The little monkey has been so good. With my headache last night him and the hubby sat quietly in the living room and watched Cars (the movie) while I laid in bed and slept. It was amazing. I don't know how the hubby kept him quiet but I was so thankful.

I am annoyed that every time I clean the house it gets messy by the next day. Why does this happen. What can I do to stop it? That is the million dollar question!

I know a few people that turned 21 recently and I know that they have obviously drank before the legal age limit. My question is why do they go out to the bars that they have obviously been in before and get hammered? They obviously know what it is like to be drunk. Not that I didn't do it too, but come on people. When are we going to learn?! And sorry for the many uses of obvious in this.

One more complaint about my headache...I really would like to call in this morning but someone called in last night. Someone who just said the other day to another employee that they never call in. Yeah right...she calls in at least once a month. So annoying. People who are good employees and are always working NEVER get to call in because it seems that the employees are not hard workers call in first. Lame.

Ok, if you want to see some other random check out http://bitchinwivesclub.blogspot.com/. That's all I got. See ya!

I was tagged over at http://bnhwelch.blogspot.com to tell you 10 things about me that you may not know. I think I have done this before so I will tell you 10 things currently going on in my life...

1) I am anxiously awaiting the start of March Madness. Starting March 18 I will be glued to my television for that weekend and then the following 2 or 3 until the NCAA championship game. It is usually on a Monday and I am hoping to be watching the KU Jayhawks!
2) THe monkey just had his 3rd birthday and he is already acting more grown-up. He is so funny being so polite. It's like watching a little man running around the house.
3) I just got my bridesmaid dress for my brothers wedding in June. Even though I have been working out at least 2 days a week and the dress fits now I am hoping that I will need to have it altered come June. I am starting back up on the Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred because my step class gets done next week and I need something different and free!
4) Me and the hubby have been getting along fabulously lately. Not that we normally don't but there are always things that we bicker about and that hasn't been happening. It is always welcome to have bicker free days in this household!
5) I hate doing laundry. I see 2 baskets of clothes that need to be put away and I don't want to do them.
6) You know how I am a big fan of Jen Lancaster right?! Well she is having a contest for advance (personalized!) copies of her new book. I just had to send an email to the local newspaper editor to tell them to run her feature that is syndicated through the Chicago Tribune. I totally did it and hopefully I will win 1 of 5 copies!
7) My friend Kirby's last day at the bank was Saturday. It was a bittersweet day. I'm happy and sad at the same time. Oh well...nothing I can do about it.
8)I went to a murder mystery party on Saturday night and it was freaking amazing! I had so much fun I am set on having one for my birthday. It's only 3 months away so I better get started planning! : )
9.) My boys are both in bed already and it is a nice feeling. I think they are getting sick though so that is not a nice feeling.
10) I can't believe how much trash and recycling a family of 3 can produce. I'm just saying...

I hope this sheds a little light on what is going on in my life right now! If anyone else wants to share 10 interesting facts about themselves I would love to hear about it!
