Swine flu says what now?

So if you read here about how my little one was running a hellacious fever but mainly only other symptom was a cough? Well even though his fever had dropped yesterday morning it had returned to a steady 100 so I figured I might as well take him in to see what the doctor was going to say and hopefully be the mom that saved the birthday party. Well...I was way wrong. We had an appointment for 12:50 yesterday afternoon and so I tried to get him to eat some Ramen before we left. That was like pulling teeth so I let it slide. When we got there he wanted to sit on my lap. My big 4 year old. On my lap?! So I said it was fine. He felt warm still but when the nurse called us back she took his temp and it was back at 103. When the doctor came in she asked what symptoms were and I kind of told her what had been happening the last couple of days and she asked if they had done a flu test? I told her we had just come in and so she sent a nurse in to swab the nose. From the time that they swabbed his nose to the time that the doctor came back in he had fallen asleep hard core on the waiting table. I felt so bad for him. When the doctor came back in she said that he had influenza strain B...aka the freaking swine flu. I asked her if that was even still around and she had told me that her kids had had it as well. I was speechless. I honestly thought that stuff had run its course. Apparently not. She said he should be non-contagious by Sunday but that fever could last as long as a week. Awesome. We got his prescription for Tamiflu and headed home. We had a very listless little boy that didn't want to even walk on his own. We also had a little boy who threw up on the way to the bathroom (thank goodness we have wood floors). And we also had a little boy who wouldn't eat his precious chicken nuggets. You know he's sick when that happens! But this morning he woke up fever free. And even though we had to cancel his birthday party with what looks like no hope for reschedule I'm just glad I took him to the doctor so we didn't wait until it got worse. I felt so bad for my little monkey yesterday. He was so helpless. So hopefully he has already kicked the bug and will be back to school on Monday! How was your Friday?

Another day another sickness

Yesterday morning Leo woke me up telling me his tummy hurt. I told him to go to the bathroom and so he did. Then when we got up for good yesterday he said his head hurt. We took his temperature and it was normal and so we gave him some ibuprofen and shooed him off to daycare. Cue to pick-up time and YAY it's your birthday. He gets home with his dad and he is acting normal. He had told his dad he hadn't felt well all day. We go to McDonalds (his choice for birthday dinner) and to Blockbuster because I thought Megamind was out on DVD. We were walking around trying to find it and Leo tells me he doesn't want to walk anymore because he's dizzy. I feel him and he is on fire. We don't find Megamind (because the Target ad tricked me and it didn't come out until today) so we leave. When we get home he tells me how cold he is and so I take his temperature. He clocks in at a whopping 103. WTF?! So I give him some more ibuprofen and let him eat his dinner at his leisure in our bed watching some cartoons. At 8 I put him to bed liken normal. He gets up around 10 and wanders into our room and crawls in the bed and instantly falls asleep. We let him stay there because poor little lamb is so tired and doesn't feel well. At 4 I wake up and he is still really warm. He wakes up a little bit and we talk and I wait to take him temp for about 10 minutes and when I do it's still at 102.5. I give him some more ibuprofen and tell him to go back to sleep.

Cue to this morning. He wakes up feeling fine. No fever. Nothing. I kept him home from school today but I'm concerned because we have family coming in from out of town to celebrate his birthday bowling style! If the fever returns today I'm taking him to the doctor just so we can make sure whatever is going on will be curbed by tomorrow. But he's acting fine. So hopefully it was just a one day bug and it's out of his system now. Maybe he just needed a little quality time with mom today!

Weird or not?

Last night I was getting ready for bed and the hubby was already laying down watching tv. I changed clothes and put on workout pants, my sports bra and the shirt I would be wearing to exercise class in the morning. My hubby looked at me like I was crazy and asked what I was doing. I told him because my class is so early in the morning (5:45 am) and that he is usually still asleep when I'm getting ready it's just easier to sleep in my clothes that I'm going to work out in. He thought that was the craziest thing. I just told him that because I was going to be sweating in them for my class I wasn't too worried about sleeping in them and getting them "dirty." He wasn't seeing my logic and that's fine. But do you think it's weird?

A little bit of food a little bit of weather a lot a bit crazy

randomtuesday

Step right up and see the random floating around today. It may be the craziest day in the week. Well at least in my world since I throw a little of this and a little of that and come up with Keely's Random Tuesday Thoughts. Let's do this...

How is it that I made a nice dinner of spaghetti, garlic bread, strawberries and peas but Leo throws a fit for a good 15 minutes refusing to eat the peas. And in essence losing privileges to the computer and having to go to bed an hour early. The kid eats boogers for gods sake. BOOGERS. But he won't suck down 2 measly peas? Needless to say the house is especially quiet this evening.

I had to work Monday. It wasn't that big of a deal. What annoyed me the most were the customers that were like...oh you had to work today? Oh man, how did you get stuck working today? And I really just wanted to say...Really? Are you trying to make me feel bad? This isn't a nice conversation to be having. It could have been a slippery slope but I kept it together!

I have to take Leo to the doctor next Monday for his 4-year checkup. I wonder if the doctor will mind if I throw in a few questions for me? We go see the same doctor so really no harm no foul right?

I went back to my exercise class this morning after taking a week off. Wow. Either she was pissed that I had taken the week off or she really stepped it up last week while I was gone because oh my gosh it was hard core. I was dripping in sweat when I left.

I made Leo eggs this morning for breakfast and I added some cheese in them because I was using some of them to make a breakfast burrito for myself. He took a bite and gave the bowl back to me and said they didn't taste good. The hubby steps in and puts salt and pepper on them (which I did when I was cooking them) and Leo takes a bite and tells me how delicious dad made them. Seriously?! Dad puts salt and pepper on them and he's the king of breakfast? I'll remember that when you're running out the door and dad grabs a pop-tart and I yell boo-yah...you wish you had unsalted and peppered eggs now huh? I'm so mature aren't I!

We had an extremely nice weathered weekend where we were even able to go to the zoo but then I woke up this morning and it was 24 degrees. How does that happen? I'm ready for spring/summer!

My little baby turns 4 on Thursday. I can't believe it. We're having a bowling party for a few friends and family members on Saturday. We're so excited! I'll post pictures after the weekend!

Ok. That's all the random I have! Happy Tuesday and see ya later.

Memoir Monday: Family Fun Weekend

Memoir Monday

My weekends have been going really well the last few weeks. This weekend was no different.

Friday:
Got off work (Woo hoo!)
Picked up my mom and Leo to go to the park
Went to the store and got 93/7 ground beef on sale for super cheap.
Got home and made super-delicious taco salads.

Saturday:
Went to work (my least favorite part of the weekend!)
After work went to my aunts house for a family birthday party where I got to see my favorite Kansas City aunt and her family that Leo is in LOVE with! Also got to eat a lot of delicious food and spend time with my Derby family! I love them too!

Sunday:
Made cinnamon rolls
Went to church
Went to lunch with my KC aunt and uncle and their kids to celebrate Leo's birthday which is this week. They aren't able to make it into town again next weekend to come to his actual birthday party so we went to McDonalds so the kids could play and then open his present.
Went to the library and got the next 2 books in the Bones series. I'm on books 6 and 7.
Picked up my mom and took her and Leo to the zoo.
Made a quick dinner of sloppy joes and enjoyed the rest of my evening!

Even though I work at a bank I will have to be working tomorrow because our branches are open to be more convenient for our customers so I don't even get a 2-day weekend. But that's ok! I'm ready to get this week over with so I can party-hardy at Leo's birthday party next weekend and hopefully the weather stays nice so the hubby's family can come in from out of town! I hope everyone else had an awesome weekend! Happy President's day!

Fun on a Thursday morning

Thursday I woke up like any other day. I let Freckles out and laid back down with Leo to watch some cartoons before getting up for the day. I eventually got up to get Leo ready for school and I went to go let Freckles in. I was in my nightgown and did not have my glasses on. So I'm at the door and I look out and there is a white spot in the middle of our yard. Laying down and not moving. Needless to say my heart starts racing a little bit. I run past the bathroom where the hubby is showering and tell him that I think Freckles is D-E-A-D. I'm in the bedroom putting on some pants and grabbing my glasses and Leo is like, mom. I proceed to ignore him because I am freaking out. I run back to the back door and Leo is standing there with an I told you so look on his face and Freckles is standing at the door. He said...mom I told you she was right here. And my heart rate is still trying to recover.

Mid-week Love

Yay! We're halfway through the week. And it's been an already long week! So I can't wait until Saturday at 6 when I am off for the weekend! Now for What I Love Wednesday. Link up and have fun!

This is my super cute purse that the hubby got me for Valentines day. It's from Target and while I have so many other bags like this (I use them to store little boy things along with my work stuff!) I really like that it has an inside zipper pocket and the outside pockets that I can stash my phone and key in so they don't get lost in the bottomless pit that is the big purse!
As I was delivering Valentines cookies to a few people on Monday I loved the fact that Leo and I brightened each of their days just a little bit. Especially my grandparents...Leo's great-grandparents. They said it was nice of us to think of them on Valentine's day!
I enjoyed the Valentine's cookies I got from my cousin. Ok...they were for all of us but I won't lie. I took them to work and ate them all. They are a chocolate chip cookie with hints of peanut butter. I'm not sure how she does it but I asked for the recipe. So good!
I love the fact that on Friday I will be off since I work Saturday. What makes this Friday even better is that the hubby doesn't have to be at work until 1. So we can spend some time together in the morning.

RTT: Valentine edition and Birthday wishes!

Another Tuesday some more random. This week there isn’t a lot of random going on. I’m not sure why. Maybe it’s because my brain is filled with the thoughts of L-O-V-E!
randomtuesday

Working inside a grocery store (inside a bank) we are situated right next to the floral department. And let me tell you…it was HOPPING yesterday. There were so many people spending ridiculous amounts of money to buy flowers for their loved ones for Valentine’s Day. I’m not the sentimental type but I think that it is CRAZY that people spend so much on something that will die within a week.

On a related Valentine’s Day note…did anyone see the commercial for Russell Stover chocolates that played all weekend long? The ones where all the ladies were talking about all they wanted for Valentine’s Day was a heart shaped box of chocolate? I just wanted to throw the remote at the TV because it gives guys a lie. I’m not sure I know very many women who would be thrilled to receive just a box of chocolate. I told the hubby that I thought the commercial was a crock of you know what and so when we were at Target he walked away for a little bit and came back and told me Happy Valentine’s Day and gave me a box of chocolates. And I called him a jerk. And then we laughed about it as he put it away. Ridiculous.

I got the hubby Season 1 of Archer on DVD for his V-day present. I thought it was pretty thoughtful! I’m not expecting anything in return. But probably because I got him something he felt obligated to get me something so I came home from work yesterday to find my favorite flowers (tulips) (and don't mind the double parentheses but I know I said earlier that I think it's crazy how much people spend on flowers...but my hubby was trying to be nice!!!) and a purse that I had shown him that I loved when we were at Target!

One of my co-workers made chocolate covered strawberries for Valentines Day. And they. Were. Delicious. Oh my goodness. I could have eaten them for days.

The temperature yesterday was in the mid 50s. Thursday it’s supposed to be mid-70s. I am thrilled. As much as I don’t mind the snow and the cold I would prefer warm. I would actually prefer a year-long fall. That would be amazing. Temperatures in the 60s and 70s year round with the pretty colored leaves everywhere.

It’s my oldest friends birthday today! (not my friend who is the oldest but the friend that I have had the longest!) We’ve been friends since 2nd grade ( I think) and technically we at first weren’t going to be friends because she had braces and OMG that was so weird! ;) But HAPPY BIRTHDAY CAMDIN! I hope 27 is everything you have ever dream of!
Us at our friends wedding this summer

And scene. That’s all I got! Go see Keely to see more random!

Pictures of Valentines Day

So my pictures came in backwards so we'll work from the back...the finished cookies. The beginning letter for each kid in Leo's class.

The cookies ready to be put in the oven

Cutting out the cookies

Rolling the dough (please disregard the mess...)

Very intent on rolling

All the hard work of Leo writing out his Valentines.

Leo writing out his Valentines (notice a theme of his cheesing?)

Happy Valentine's Day from us to you! (and sorry if you already saw these on Facebook!)

Weekend Recap

This weekend was amazing. Seriously amazing. I wasn't expecting it to be spectacular but that was what happened.

Saturday morning me and the monkey got up at a normal time and ate a little breakfast. Then we got up and around and went to a cooking class held at his school. We made chicken and cheese enchiladas and salad for lunch and then had pound cake with strawberries and bananas drizzled in chocolate syrup. And he was so good. The entire time. I had told him before we left that if he started acting up that we would just leave. I had already paid so it's not like we had anything to wait around for. But he was perfect. Ok...well maybe not perfect but he was very well behaved. And I appreciated it.

Then we went home and the hubby was home from work. Leo had tried to fall asleep in the car but I had to keep him awake or he wouldn't have napped. So he went and layed down when we got home and napped until it was time to go to grandma and grandpas. I dozed a bit and when the KU game started the hubby and I watched it. And let me tell you...KU was amazing. We didn't get to finish the game but there were only a few minutes left in the game when we left. We took Leo to grandmas and then we hit up the local hibachi restaurant for our Valentines dinner. And it was delicious. And we ate and drank and had so much fun. We ended our evening going to Target to get toilet paper. So romantic!

Sunday I went to get Leo around 11 from my parents house and he had apparently been up since 4:30 with my dad. Let me rephrase that...Leo woke my dad up at 4:30. And my dad was nice enough to stay up and watch cartoons with him. Apparently the kiddos (my neice also spent the night at my parents house) were on opposite schedules. My neice was up off and on until 1:30 and my mom was dealing with her and then my dad was up early with Leo. So funny. After picking him up he was so tired from being crazy and so he went and napped pretty much right when we got home. While he was napping I made sugar cookie dough so that way it would be ready for him to help me make his cookies for his school party. When he woke up he helped write all the kids names in his class on his valentines and roll out the cookie dough and cut out the shapes for the cookies. And after I frosted them he put the sprinkles on them all. It was so much fun! I ended the evening by finishing the 4th book in the Bones series by Kathy Reichs. Luckily when I went to the library last week I got the 4th and 5th book because I have been going through them so fast.

All in all it was a FABULOUS weekend. I am looking forward to tonight when KU plays K-State in the second Sunflower Showdown. And hopefully KU beats K-State as soundly as they did the last time they played! I hope you all had an awesome weekend and a very happy Valentine's Day! And when I have time later today I'm going to post pictures of Leo making his little Valentines. So precious!

RTT: Super Bowl ads, Teeny bopper pop and bad movies

We're almost to the half-way point of the week. That means it's Tuesday. Time for some Random with Keely. Go over and check out all the random spewing out of the blogosphere.

Since Sunday was the Super Bowl I figured I would put my 2 cents in about the commercials. I honestly didn't pay close attention during the game because I was trying to corral Leo but I got off work early on Monday so I checked them out on the web. My favorites were:
  • VW Darth Vader. It was just cute. And I can see Leo being the little boy trying to get the force to work for him.
  • The Audi Release the Hounds commercial. I thought all the rich people in jail and the 2 dudes trying to escape.
  • Chevy: Lassie truck. It was funny. And the part at the end where the guy was like I didn't even know there was a volcano in this town.
  • And finally the Pepsi Max can thrower. Just hilarious.
If you want to watch all the ads like I did you can go here.

Have you guys heard the new Avril Lavigne song? While I dig this song A LOT I was thinking the other day at what age do you get too old to like teeny-bopper pop music? Also...what's up with Avril? I love her, don't get me wrong but she is 26 and still sings this type of music. I remember when she first came out and she was all hard-core wannabe punk. And now look at her. Still singing pop music. If you like her check out her new video for What the Hell

The hubby and I are going out for Valentines Day next Saturday. My parents have been so nice and are going to babysit Leo so we don't have to get someone to watch him. So we are going to go to a nice restaurant where I am going to dress up. I'm pretty excited. My mom also gave me 2 tickets to go to a local theater. But I was looking to see what movies are out and coming out and I'm just not seeing too much out there. I guess there are probably more out there that I want to see (I'm talking to you Black Swan and The King's Speech) but my hubby won't. And there are a few out there that we would probably like to see but oh my goodness I've seen previews for some movies that look TERRIBLE. Some of those include: Drive Angry 3D, Hall Pass, Just Go With It and Gnomeo and Juliet. Hopefully something amazing comes out on Friday so we will have something to go see!

I put this on twitter the other day but does anyone remember the show Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip? We have been streaming it on Netflix and I forgot how awesome it was. In 1 episode I was laughing out loud and crying. IN 40 minutes. Ahhhh the hormones of a woman! But seriously the show is awesome. I hate how the hubby and I have started watching numerous shows and so many of them have been canceled. It's such a bummer. You hate to get invested in a show just to have it end on a cliff-hanger.

We went to Great Clips the other day to get Leo's hair cut and it got butchered. She used clippers and buzzed his beautiful baby hair. He's had so many haircuts and they usually use the clippers but then use scissors to cut the top part. Not this time. And I just stared in shock when I saw her do it. When I made mention that it was really short the stylist got defensive and was like, well that's why I said blah blah blah. And I thought, yeah, like I have any idea what you just said. Again. I was nice and said that it would grow out and that just next time I'll make sure to tell them to use the scissors on the top. No harm no foul I guess. It will grow out!

Ok. That's all I have for today. Nothing terribly exciting happening. But go check out Keely. She'll show you exciting!

Pork Chop Fail (and I'm not talking about Doug Funnies dog)

While I hit one end of the spectrum for awesomeness in the kitchen I definitely hit the other one last night. I tried another new recipe for crock-pot pork chops and while I thought that would be an easy-peasy delicious dinner I had a rude awakening when I went to serve it. The recipe called for it to cook on a low temperature for 5-6 hours. I put it in at 12:45 yesterday afternoon and unplugged the crock-pot at 6:30. When I tried to get it out of the crock-pot I expected to have little resistance with a fork. I was wrong. It was so dry. It had even stuck to the liner that I used to save on clean up. So apparently 5 hours and 45 minutes was too long. All it said was to cook it with onions, garlic and barbecue sauce. I skipped on the onion and garlic (mainly because I didn’t have any on hand because I’m not a big onion person and I just didn’t have any garlic) but I even added extra barbecue sauce. Bummer.

After I got that out of the crock-pot I went to get the potatoes out of the oven. I had cooked those for an hour. When I opened mine to butter it it was still hard. Really?! So yeah, dry pork chops and hard baked potatoes. At least the corn on the cob and the biscuits were good. I guess not all new meals can be a complete success. Maybe next time!

Friday Freedom

My new day off this semester (we go by semesters at work because of the amount of college students we employ) is Friday. And while some people would really enjoy Friday's off it's not that big of a day for me. Any day off for me is used to relax without anyone bothering me, getting stuff done around the house or running errands.

So today I got up at 5:15 (yes, on my day off) to go to the gym. And yes, it was probably negative degrees because of the wind chill. It was bitingly cold. Did my class until 6:30. Came home, gave Leo a bath and got him to school by 7:45. And you know what I did then? I went to Wal-Mart. And walked around by myself looking at whatever I wanted and taking the time I wanted. It was glorious! I don't even remember the last time I've done that. And then I was on my way home and thought, what the heck...I'm going to go to Target too! So I did. And I almost bought a really cute St. Patrick's day shirt for myself but then decided against it. But it was cute. So I'll probably check back in hopes that it goes on sale! Look at me with my high aspirations for my day off! And then I was home by 9:30!

After that I just laid in bed until around 3 just catching up on stuff I had recorded on my DVR. I ate breakfast AND lunch in bed. But don't tell my hubby! :) After being in bed all day I figured I should get up and do something productive so I cleaned the kitchen and dining room. I guess I also had put dinner in the crockpot so I wasn't completely lazy! Then around 5 I went to pick up Leo from school. And because I was craving some ice cream we stopped at Sonic. We got the value menu cones. So delicious! And now here I am blogging while Leo is playing X-Box while we wait for the hubby to come home. Then we can eat our (hopefully) delicious dinner of pork chops (recipe forthcoming if it turns out good!), baked potatoes and corn on the cob.

I hope all of your Friday's were as awesome as mine!

Recipe: Accomplished

I have been in a cooking rut. I admit it. We haven't even been eating out that much but our schedules have been really hectic lately and so lately it seems like we have had pre-prepared meals. Ramen noodles with some fruits or veggies, chicken nuggets, fish sticks. All oh-so-healthy foods that I'm sure in moderation are fine but I think my family was wishing I would go back to my meal planning. So I did. And I found 4 new recipes that I wanted to try out. Wednesday night I planned on making skillet lasagna. I am not a lasagna fan due to the fact that the ricotta (or cottage) cheese sicks me out. But this recipe was just noodles, beef and sauce. Give or take a few ingredients. What's not to like about that? It's like spaghetti. I love spaghetti! And it was new. So I thought I would give it a whirl. Here is the recipe from Betty Crocker. I will say that my foray into this did not start as expected. I had put some ground beef that I had cooked a few weeks ago that I had froze in the fridge to thaw out so I could just toss it in with the other ingredients when I got home from work. Well I got home from work and grabbed the baggy and realized it was NOT ground beef. Apparently I need to label better (I mean label at all). It was some barbecue that I had cooked a while ago. I guess I'll just have to take that for lunch sometime this week! But other than that everything went pretty smoothly. I even made my own garlic bread from a loaf of french bread I picked up on the way home from work. Super sweet!

The outcome was that it was delicious. My hubby is not a foodie so when I asked him he was like...it was ok. I was like, well it will be on the menu again. And I even cleaned up the entire kitchen when we were finished eating. It was so nice. Dishes done, counters cleaned up, stove washed off. It felt very rewarding! The next new recipe will be tried out on Friday. Crock pot pork chops. Hopefully that outcome will be just as good!

WILW: Giving Thanks

I’m linking up with Jamie for What I’m Loving Wednesday. And since the weather has been horrific here (I know what I said yesterday and I still defend it) I am more doing what I’m thankful for but in the terms of what I’m loving!

I’m loving that our family has 2 cars that both work and got me and the hubby to and from work safely yesterday.

I’m loving that even though the weather we got was bad we didn’t get hit as hard as other parts of the country. Yeah, I’m talking to you Chicago and Kansas City!

I’m loving that I had a safe, warm house to come home to after an extremely long day at work yesterday.
I’m loving that I had a full pantry so I didn’t have to make any unnecessary stops on the way home. Even though I did only end up eating cereal last night!

I’m loving that my mom and dad picked up Leo from school early because of the weather and he got to spend even more quality time with them. And they sent yummy food home for me to take to lunch today!

I’m loving that Leo’s school was cancelled today so his dad got to stay home with him and so when I get off work we will have party time tonight. Ok, so maybe not but I will not have to rush to get him when I get off work and will have plenty of time to make dinner and not feel so rushed tonight. Win-win!

Even though I’m still having to work today (bah-humbug) I am loving that I have an indoor job. I would hate to have to work outside. The wind chill was in the far negatives this morning. No thank you!

Ok…that’s what I’m loving today. If you want to link up check out Jamie and all the other lovelies that have linked up!

Babies, Babysitting and Cooking: A very maternal RTT

It’s Tuesay. Let’s Random. It. Up.

We’re supposed to get up to 7 inches of snow here between today and tomorrow. Apparently it’s the end of the world. I must have missed the memo. Because as far as I’m concerned…I’m still going to have to go to work tomorrow. So it really doesn’t matter.

Because I was not feeling so hot last week I skipped my last two sessions at the gym on Wednesday and Friday last week. I did go on Monday morning and I am exhausted. My legs felt like jelly much of Monday. I didn’t realize how hard I was working.

I am trying 4 new recipes in the next 2 weeks of our cooking cycle. I’m pretty impressed with that number. I really felt like I was in a rut with what I’d been cooking so I looked online and found some new ones that sounded pretty good. If I have any winners I’ll post them on here. I am also trying to fry chicken. We’ll see how that turns out.

I am going to try to enlist the services of a neighbor girl to babysit Leo the weekend of Valentine’s Day. I’m pretty nervous about that. Only 1 time has Leo been baby-sat by a non-family member outside of daycare. And it was the neighbor girl. And I freaked the whole time we were gone. Hopefully she’ll be available and hopefully I won’t be a creep and just deal with the date night like a normal adult. Also…since we usually get free services what is the going rate for a babysitter on a big weekend?

Sometimes there are things that I want to put on my blog but either because I’m not sure I’m ready to talk about them or because I don’t know that people would really care I don’t. But I think it might be cathartic. Sometimes I wish that no one I knew in real life read my blog so that way I didn’t feel like I couldn’t write those things. Oh well!

Leo and I were watching TV yesterday and he saw a commercial with babies in it. He looked at the TV then looked at me and told me that if we had another baby then he would be the best big brother. Then he said, and then another baby and another baby he would be the biggest brother. How many kids does this kid think I’m having. I’m one and done baby. One and done. Ok, maybe one more and done but still. Not any more than that!

I have not had much patience for my little one lately and I don’t know if it’s because he’s been so rambunctious and so he’s getting on my nerves or all the back talk/attitude that has been aimed at me but we are butting heads like crazy. He kept telling me yesterday that his dad was his best buddy and that I wasn’t. But then if I said something like, oh no…daddy’s your best buddy he would get all sad and ask if I still loved him and if I was his mom still. It about broke my heart. He goes through highs and lows like it’s nobody’s business. His dad said, he get it from his momma.

I filed our taxes yesterday and we’re getting a return. So I’m pretty excited about that. I’m using that money to pay down some bills and then use some for savings and a little for Leo’s birthday party. Look at me being all responsible about it. We’ve been so good lately. It’s making me very, very happy to know we are even closer to our financial goals! Woo hoo!
