RTT: Valentine edition and Birthday wishes!

Another Tuesday some more random. This week there isn’t a lot of random going on. I’m not sure why. Maybe it’s because my brain is filled with the thoughts of L-O-V-E!
randomtuesday

Working inside a grocery store (inside a bank) we are situated right next to the floral department. And let me tell you…it was HOPPING yesterday. There were so many people spending ridiculous amounts of money to buy flowers for their loved ones for Valentine’s Day. I’m not the sentimental type but I think that it is CRAZY that people spend so much on something that will die within a week.

On a related Valentine’s Day note…did anyone see the commercial for Russell Stover chocolates that played all weekend long? The ones where all the ladies were talking about all they wanted for Valentine’s Day was a heart shaped box of chocolate? I just wanted to throw the remote at the TV because it gives guys a lie. I’m not sure I know very many women who would be thrilled to receive just a box of chocolate. I told the hubby that I thought the commercial was a crock of you know what and so when we were at Target he walked away for a little bit and came back and told me Happy Valentine’s Day and gave me a box of chocolates. And I called him a jerk. And then we laughed about it as he put it away. Ridiculous.

I got the hubby Season 1 of Archer on DVD for his V-day present. I thought it was pretty thoughtful! I’m not expecting anything in return. But probably because I got him something he felt obligated to get me something so I came home from work yesterday to find my favorite flowers (tulips) (and don't mind the double parentheses but I know I said earlier that I think it's crazy how much people spend on flowers...but my hubby was trying to be nice!!!) and a purse that I had shown him that I loved when we were at Target!

One of my co-workers made chocolate covered strawberries for Valentines Day. And they. Were. Delicious. Oh my goodness. I could have eaten them for days.

The temperature yesterday was in the mid 50s. Thursday it’s supposed to be mid-70s. I am thrilled. As much as I don’t mind the snow and the cold I would prefer warm. I would actually prefer a year-long fall. That would be amazing. Temperatures in the 60s and 70s year round with the pretty colored leaves everywhere.

It’s my oldest friends birthday today! (not my friend who is the oldest but the friend that I have had the longest!) We’ve been friends since 2nd grade ( I think) and technically we at first weren’t going to be friends because she had braces and OMG that was so weird! ;) But HAPPY BIRTHDAY CAMDIN! I hope 27 is everything you have ever dream of!
Us at our friends wedding this summer

And scene. That’s all I got! Go see Keely to see more random!

Yeah, I don't know any women who WANT a cheap box of chocolate. If someone brought it to the office, I am sure we'd all pick at it but come on! Happy Tuesday.

The commercial taht bugged me the most was for a internet flower place. All the women that were gushing about how their flower made everyone else at the office jealous. Yuck. I don't want a present that wiull die or end up eaten(unless the chocolate is really good), get me something that will last.

I agree with everyone. I'd rather have something that came from the heart, that meant something to both of us. Call me weird.

Happy RTT!

The thing that bugs me is that they always hike up the prices specifically for Valentine's Day - I so much prefer getting flowers on a 'just because' basis any other time of the year except Valentine's Day. :) And since I'm not a lover of chocolates (I know, how is that possible?!) hubby knows to never buy me chocolates as a gift. Stuff from the heart and especially a card mean so much more than stuff that will be gone in a matter of days. ;)

If all I got was a cheesy box of chocolates, I can tell you what he wouldn't be getting for a while....

Mmmmmm... chocolate covered strawberries.

I know there was more to this post than just chocolate, but now I'm distracted.
