Random Thoughts: Pictures, McRibs and Other Fun-Funfilled Shennanigans

Holy cow it’s Tuesday. I can’t believe it. This week/month/year is going ridiculously fast. But since it’s Tuesday I’m going to bust out some random. I’ve been thinking about it a lot. Because most of my thoughts are random but anyways…

Apparently McRibs are back at McDonalds. I’m not a fan of them. Honestly I’ve never tried them but they look disgusting. My sister in law loves them but not me. But what I do like is the song that is played on the commercial. It’s called “Love” by Matt White. I either want to dance or lay in a bubble bath when I hear it. I know those two don’t really coincide but in my world they do!

I took the monkey to the doctor last night. I wanted to make sure he was ok for his pictures on Wednesday. Yeah, I’m an awesome mom! Well it turns out he has bronchitis and an upper respiratory infection. Poor little guy. I guess it’s a good thing we decided to take him. Unfortunately the medicine he is on is making him crazy hyper. Awesome.

I helped this little old couple at work today and it was the sweetest thing. The lady was trying to sit down in a chair at my desk and her husband pulled out her chair for her. It reminded me of my grandparents and how when they walk anywhere they always hold hands. It’s so cute.

So yeah, Leo has pictures on Wednesday and I am SO excited. This is the first time he will have had his pictures done by a professional other than JC Penney’s or Sears. I used a groupon and the photographer is a girl I went to high school with that has her own photography business. She takes awesome pictures and I am looking forward to the pictures we get back from her.

My hubby’s birthday is today. The big 3-6. He is now on his downhill slope to 40 but don’t tell him. He’ll just get mad. I called him my silver fox (like from the movie Grandma’s Boy) and he did not find it amusing at all. He was all huffy for the rest of the day. But his birthday has benefited me in a few ways. A few weeks ago when we went to Kansas City for the Chiefs game my parents had bought his ticket for the game. And then this morning I got up and made cinnamon rolls for him for breakfast. But of course I got to eat some too. It was fun though because I put a candle in the cinnamon roll and Leo and I took it to him in bed. And then my boys ate in bed together. So sweet!

Last night I was at Target and there was a big clearance rack (!) for kids clothes. I was looking anyways for a nice long-sleeved shirt or sweater for Leo to wear for his pictures so I thought woo hoo! But then I realized most of the clothes were for girls. So annoying. Why are there so many more clothes for girls? Everywhere I look. Racks upon racks of girl clothes but then a rack for boy clothes. So annoying. And now they are opening up a “girly-girl” place for girls to have birthday parties and tea parties and what not for girls but there is definitely a void for places like that for boys. I wish I had the brain power to come up with an all boys place for parties. Or maybe in bigger cities there are places like that. I’m not sure.
And is it bad…that when I was looking at all those beautiful girl clothes (because of course I had to look!) that I thought, “maybe I should pick a few things up.” You know…in case if and when I get pregnant I will have a girl. Oh my I’m a creep!

Ok. That’s all I have. My brain is surely wiped out. To see more awesome random thoughts head over to Keely’s. She knows her random.

My mom bought just in case girl clothes--not too many-before we had our second. We had a boy. So that worked well.

Happy birthday to your hubby!
When we found out Sprite was a girl, I bought one dress and kept the receipt the entire time until she finally came out, making sure she didn't grow a 21st digit in the meantime. :-)
