RTT

So I have been streaming Dexter through Netflix and it is crazy. Really dark. I'd never seen it before because we didn't have Showtime but I wanted to. So I was like, sure I'll watch it. So crazy. I can only really watch an episode at a time because it's crazy!

I feel like I haven't got enough use of my season pass to the zoo. Our zoo rocks here and Leo loves to go but I never feel like we have enough time so I don't go. But the truth of it is, is that even if we only go for 30 minutes it's ok because we don't have to pay (since we already have paid our membership). So I need to get the thought out of my head and get my lazy behind in gear and take him.

I have decided that I have no self control and should no longer bake anything delicious. I made cookies for Leo's Halloween party at school. And while I sent most of the extra cookies in baggies for the other teachers I left some at home. BIG mistake. I have eaten ALL of them. And I do this every time I make anything like this. I feel they shouldn't go to waste and so I chow down. And they're so good so I can't just eat one. It's terrible. But delicious.

Leo has decided that he will not listen to anything I say lately. It is getting to the point where I'm about on my last nerve. The kid will listen to anything his dad says but nothing I say. And not just discipline-wise. If he asks me a question and I answer it he goes to his dad for validation. What happened to my mama's boy and why is he now obsessed with his daddy?! I guess it's time we have a little girl that I can turn into a princess!

We cleaned house this past weekend and it was in desperate need of it. Like deep cleaned. Like moving the furniture and all that nonsense. Do you know what the most coveted items under our bed was? Neither of the items were of people that should be sleeping in the bed on a long term basis. They were Leo's socks and some of his toys. I told him about it and he apologized. What a nice kid!

I got in the Halloween spirit on Friday by watching Practical Magic. I have decided that even though I don't really like Nicole Kidman in her serious roles I really like her in movies where she doesn't take herself seriously. Ex: Practical Magic, Moulin Rouge.

Also getting in the Halloween spirit I watched Rocky Horror Picture Show for the first time on Saturday night. All I can say is wow. Very odd movie. I'm not sure I'll watch it again. I guess my sense of humor is not on course for this movie.

And even though Halloween is over I am definitely still feeling the effects of the holiday. Every day the kid asks if he can have candy. From the minute he wakes up in the morning until the minute he goes to bed. I'm pretty sure he's going to turn into a giant piece of candy. And I'm about to throw the candy in the trash.

And now that Halloween is over I can say it. I can't believe it's November! So crazy. Only 2 months until Christmas. Ridiculous!

To check out other random thoughts head over to Keely's. She is usually in the random spirit on Tuesdays!

Dexter is crazy - but crazy good. Limited to one episode, though...that's how I watched it when we had Showtime. I didn't know you could stream it through Netflix, I might have to follow your lead! :)

Heh, I do the same thing when I bake anything delicious. You're not alone. :)

Homemade brownies are my downfall. I'd eat them until they are gone--but I have competition, Nick eats them as fast as I do.
Haven't watched Dexter--I hear good things about it though.

I've never watched Dexter, but must say I am intrigued. I just never took the time to watch from the beginning. It never fails. Kids stuff is always somewhere besides where it belongs

I watch Dexter on Netflix too but like with cookies, have a hard time stopping at just one.

i went shopping for cheap halloween leftover candy yesterday...the stores already had christmas chocolate on the shelves!

for shame.

no wonder it all goes stale.

also, i was pretty bummed out by the lack of "on sale" candy.

*sigh*

I don't think you should feel bad that you don't get out to the zoo more often, even though you have a pass! It takes 20-30 minutes just to drive out there, so it's not like you can go if you just have 30 minutes. You're a wonderful mom and take Lil Leo so many places! He's very blessed to have you as a mom, and his listening to Leonard and not you is just a stage. Hang in there! Love you!
