Crazy Kansas weather
So the beginning of the week had beautiful weather for us. I think it was tricking us to think that spring had sprung. But the weather was in the upper 70s to low 80s. It was like we had hit the jackpot! I wore a tanktop and yoga pants to go on a 3+mile walk on Tuesday and I was sweating. Big time! So, naturally I was off Wednesday and mother nature decided to throw me a little curveball. I have been trying to find a time to take monkey to the zoo and I figured Wednesday would be perfect. I would take care of my housekeeping in the morning and then pick him up early from daycare so we could hit the zoo. Enter foreboding music. Wednesday morning comes around and the sun is trying to peek through the clouds but it is still windy. Then lunchtime comes and the sun is no longer visible and the wind has picked up tremendously. I still decide to go because it's free (we have a membership) and if we only stay for a little bit it's fine. Well I take my heavy jacket and take the monkeys heavy jacket and a blanket. We definitely needed it. We were at the zoo for almost 2 hours! We definitely made the trip worthwhile but it was FREEZING! 2 things were interesting about this trip. 1 was that there was what looked to be a high school group in the indoor elephant/rhino area and the zookeepers were showing the group tricks the elephants could do. So we got a bonus of seeing that. The second thing was that there are a number of indoor areas that we could visit like the reptiles/frogs, the gorillas, the other monkeys, the new tiger exhibit and indoor exhibit for the elephants/rhinos. So even though it was really cold we could make a few indoor stops and warm up. I did check the temperature when we got home. 42 degrees. Yep. Crazy Kansas weather. Going from 82 on Tuesday to 42 on Wednesay. Priceless.

So glad you did go. You never did say how the monkey liked it. Was it too cold for him to enjoy?
Makes ya wonder if the elephant come from a circus.
Today was a beautiful 78 degrees and it is supposed to get down in the 30's tonight.
Glad yall had a good day.
